Themes adalah suatu element penting untuk membangun web berbasis CMS. Untuk pengguna Joomla, WordPress atau Blogspot tentu bukan hal yang sulit menemukan template yang menarik dan sesuai dengan keinginan. Bertebarannya berbagai macam template atau themes di internet, semakin memper “rancak” tampilan blog atau web kita. Untuk blog ini saya menggunakan template langit yang dibuat oleh Eches.
Khusus untuk WordPress, sekarang ada themes yang menampilkan konten blog seperti halnya portal berita. Kalau dilihat sekali pandang, tampilannya bukan seperti blog tetapi seperti situs berita lainnya. Pernah datang ke situs Langit Selatan? Sebenarnya bukan situs, tetapi blog seperti blog ini. Bedanya mereka menampilkan themes magazine pada blognya. Dan seolah-olah tampak seperti situs berita.
Sebenarnya banyak themes magazine ini di internet. Dan yang terbaru biasanya mereka melepaskan kalau sudah dibayar, alias kita kudu bayar. Kali ini, sekitar kita akan menampilkan beberapa themes magazine yang bisa Anda download secara gratis.
ArtFull theme: Menampilkan kolom seperti situs berita, termasuk kustomisasi php file dengan posting terakhir pada halaman depan.
Options theme: 2 macam; Dark dan White. Ada 5 sections pada layout halaman. Dari halaman Option, kita bisa memilih 14 opsi berbeda untuk tiap sections-nya.
Structure theme: Ada video built-in.
Visionary theme: Halaman depan yang bisa kita atur seperti halam situs berita. Bisa menampilkan link video Youtube, Google Video, Metacafe dengan mudah.
Morning After theme: 3 Kolom. “Featured” post yang di highlight, associating images/thumbnails dengan recent posts, customisable logo/header image.
Mimbo Magazine theme: Themes yang digunakan oleh Langitselatan.com.

Massive News theme: The fully automated featured article carousel is one of the many premium features of the Massive News WordPress theme. Featured article images, Links and Descriptions can easily be edited through the Massive News control panel within your WordPress installation.
Themes tambahan:
Zeke theme – a 3-column, widget-ready WordPress theme. Bekerja pada WP versi 2.2 keatas.
Jello Wala Mello theme – uses the optional excerpt and two custom fields: Thumbnail, and Thumbnail Full (case sensitive).
Forte – a 2 column blog, Magazine & list styled wordPress theme.

wuah ada yg aneh.. langitselatan memang menggunakan engine blog dan design untuk news and magazine tp apakah sebuah blog bukan merupakan situs berita hanya dari engine dan tampilan.
yg menentukan sebuah situs itu berita atau bukan yah isinya atuh bukan tampilannya. coba deh anda liat si langitseatan apakah bukan berita? wong isinya berita dan materi edukasi kok.
aneh toh bikin klasifikasi dari tampilan. klasifikasi itu ay dari konten!.
